The Charitable Trust has made a donation to the charity Crisis UK to offer some hope and comfort to homeless people over the festive season.
The Trust has supported the Crisis Christmas campaign since 2006, which originally called on Corporates to donate their paper Christmas card budget to Crisis to support homeless people at Christmas and use a Crisis e-card instead. It is estimated that up to 1 billion Christmas cards (17 for every man, woman and child) will end up in bins across the UK this year.
Crisis hopes to welcome 2,800 people to their Christmas centres in December to offer shelter and nutritious meals, as well as the chance to benefit from life-saving services such as health checks, housing advice and the opportunity to learn new skills and perhaps most importantly companionship and support.
