We seek external guidance on key, business-related climate change through partnerships with a number of charitable organisations, including:

Swiss Climate Foundation

The foundation was set up in 2008 to directly champion the cause of climate protection in Switzerland by providing funding to SMEs that take a proactive approach to reducing their CO2 emissions. It is supported by Man and 20 other companies, using their gains from the re-distribution of the government CO2 levy to donate over 10 million CHF, of which 910,000CHF has funded 11 projects to date. Local management participates on the quarterly advisory board to assess project proposals.

The focus of the Swiss Climate Foundation

The foundation focuses on three areas:

  1. Supporting SMEs’ initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and increasing energy efficiency
  2. Supporting research and development projects in new climate-related technologies and products
  3. Supporting SMEs which voluntarily commit themselves to energy-efficiency and reduction of CO2 emission within the framework of the Energy-Agency of the Economy (EnAW)

Through grouping of the funds the foundation enables participating firms to use their net gains from redistributed CO2 levies (rebates) to back suitable projects in an effective and efficient way.
