To pursue and evidence where possible the high standards of behaviour, both corporate and individual, which underpin our reputation and create and maintain trust in and loyalty to our Group among all stakeholders. Our CR programme focuses on five key areas, selected on the basis of their relevance to the size, scale and nature of our business:
Governance and risk management
Strong risk management creates sustainable performance and is an essential feature of Man’s
business for both shareholders and fund investors. We continue to strengthen our Board's
skill set and its ability to govern the business and deliver value for shareholders.
Our marketplace
Meeting our Corporate Responsibility obligations plays an important part in fulfilling our duty
to our marketplace, by which we mean all our shareholders and those who invest in our company
and products. We also try to ensure compliance throughout our supply chain, though the activity
is limited, and viewed as low risk.
Our people
We believe attracting, motivating and developing the best people is key to our sustainability as
a business. We put employee engagement at the heart of our strategy by embedding, practising and
espousing values that foster diversity and equal opportunity, promote participation and
professional development, and support wellbeing.
The environment
Our environmental strategy is relevant to the size, scale and nature of our business. We have
been a signatory to the Carbon Disclosure Project since 2006 and a member of the Dow Jones
Sustainability Indexes since 2007, are widely recognised for environmental leadership in our
sector, and have made it a priority to take responsibility for our carbon impacts, through
measurement and monitoring, reduction, mitigation and reporting.
Community
Embedded within our culture throughout our history of over two centuries has been an awareness
that we can survive and thrive only if we engage with the wider communities in which we live and
work. We commit to those communities in three distinct ways: through sponsorship, through
philanthropy and through direct initiatives undertaken by our people.
