Employee engagement

Philanthropy is at its most powerful when combining financial support with employee engagement. We continue to encourage philanthropic activities amongst our people and lead the league tables in supporting employee charitable endeavours via:

ManKind – Community volunteering

The Charitable Trust's community volunteering programme ManKind allows our employees an additional two days paid leave per annum to volunteer either with a charity of their choice or with one of the charities currently supported by the Charitable Trust. Our people took part in many activities including serving breakfast to the homeless, facilitating employability workshops for disaffected youth and reading to primary school children. In April-December 2011 20% of London employees participated in the ManKind volunteering programme.

Annual Charities 2011 and 2012

Since 2004, the Charitable Trust has supported an Annual Charity as selected by Man’s UK employees. For April-December 2011, Man employees voted to support The Place2Be. The charity received a donation from the Man Charitable Trust and was the focus of a number of events and volunteer initiatives driven by employees during the year.

From January 2012 the Annual Charity is the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
